Please note that from 15 November to 15 April many cities are required by law to restrict the circulation to only vehicles equipped with snow chains or winter tyres. For a summary of the orders, please visit www.poliziadistato.it and/or www.mit.gov.it.

To comply with the regulations, in the locations subject to this requirement, vehicles are equipped with snow chains - the price is included in the rental charges under the item Winterisation Fee. At pick-up if you decide to bring your own snow chains or do not intend on driving on roads subject to this requirement, you may decline the equipment by signing the appropriate release form. This change will be reflected in the rental charges. For more information on the fees, please see below.

In all other regions, we recommend that you check before renting if your journey includes one of the roads subject to this requirement and therefore request the snow chains.

ITALY REGIONS WITH SNOW CHAINS INCLUDED IN YOUR RATE

Hertz offers vehicles equipped with snow chains in the following Italian regions: Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto, Trentino Alto Adige, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Liguria, Emilia Romagna, Tuscany, Umbria, Marche, Lazio (in selected cities and locations), Abruzzo, Molise, Campania (in selected cities and locations), Calabria (in selected cities and locations), Puglia (in selected cities and locations) and Basilicata.

In these regions, all vehicles are automatically equipped with snow chains for an additional fee of:

If the snow chains are not returned a fee of € 73.20 (including tax) will be applied.

Please note that if your rate includes the Winterisation Fee you do NOT need to add the snow chains as extra as this equipment is already included in your reservation with the relevant fee. Please check your rate for all inclusions and charges.

ALL OTHER ITALY REGIONS

In all other regions, Hertz offers snow chains from all locations for an additional fee of € 8.54 (including tax) per day with a maximum of € 42.70 (including tax) per rental. If the snow chains are not returned, a fee of € 73.20 (including tax) will be applied.

Please note that if your rate includes the Winterisation Fee you do NOT need to add the snow chains as extra as this equipment is already included in your reservation with the relevant fee. Please check your rate for all inclusions and charges.

Please note: Vehicle groups marked "Winter/Winter Tyres" in the model name are already equipped with winter tyres and do not require snow chains.

One-way rentals are possible within and outside Italy with no additional fee for the equipment.

This equipment is confirmed at time of booking from all corporate locations and with 48 hours advance notice from all licensee locations.
