Hertz in Cannes
You'll find the city of Cannes in southeast France, on the famous Côte d'Azur Mediterranean coast. It faces the small bay called the Golfe de la Napoule and the Ile Sainte-Marguerite. This is part of the glamorous French Riviera coast. To the southwest is the resort of Frejus, to the northeast is Juan-Les-Pins and Antibes. Inland are the foothills of the Alps Maritimes and the hill towns of Grasse and Mougins. If you have a rental car you'll soon discover that Cannes itself lies between the A8 motorway and the sea. The A8 leads west to Aix and east to Italy.
If you rent a car in Cannes you'll be able to explore all the different sides to the city. You'll find it's a beach resort at heart, with a long sandy stretch backed by a shady tree-lined promenade - there's a port and marina too. Cannes is famous for its international jet-set glamour. You'll find plenty of luxury hotels and restaurants but there are simple attractions too. The old Le Suquet district is great for wandering winding cobbled lanes leading up to the castle, lined with fishermen???s cottages, shops and bars. And try to take a boat trip to Ile Sainte-Marguerite to see the old cell of the Man in the Iron Mask.
