Flensburg is Germany's most northerly city, standing right up in the Jutland peninsular just four miles south of the Danish border. It has a picturesque location, at the head of the Flensburg Fjord that heads east into the Baltic Sea. If you pick up a hire car in Flensburg you'll be able to tour the shores of this fjord, as well as the attractions of the city itself. Flensburg lies just to the east of the main A7 motorway heading north into Denmark from Hamburg. Further afield there's the attractive leafy shores of the fjord to visit, with plenty of little beaches and harbours to see.
