The picturesque, university city of Freiburg is one of Germany's hidden secrets. After taking in the sights of the city, rent a car and drive to Günterstal to take Germany's longest cable car up the nearby mountain of Schauinsland, resplendent with its stunning views. Experience some of the Black Forest's 3,733 square miles of beauty, while with a car, Basel in Switzerland to the south, and Strasbourg to the north in France are both just an hour away.
