Hertz in Olbia
The city of Olbia is situated on the north east coast of the Italian island of Sardinia. It stands at the head of a long inlet from the Tyrrhenian Sea, which serves as a large natural harbour. If you rent a car in Olbia you will be well placed to tour the city and its attractions and also explore the neighbouring sights, like the luxurious Costa Smeralda coastline and the mountains to the west. Just off Olbia are the Tavolara Islands, an Italian National Park.
If you rent a car in Olbia you will soon find that the city is the main point of arrival for visitors to the island of Sardinia. There is a busy passenger ferry port and an international airport here, so the city is well organised for newcomers. You will easily be able to find you way to the main attractions, like the 1,000 year old Romanesque San Simplicio Basilica and the medieval church of St Paul. There are acclaimed restaurants and colourful shops to browse too, or you may want to head for the beaches. Costa Smeralda's "Riviera" style resorts are a short drive away but there are beaches even closer, just to the north and south of the city.
