Hertz in Verona
You will find the city of Verona in the centre of northern Italy, almost midway between Milan and Venice. Indeed, if you rent a car in Verona, you wll soon notice that the A4 motorway from Venice to Milan passes right through the city. The road network is good here. You wll also find the north-south A22 motorway just to the west of the city. Verona itself stands mostly on the southern bank of the winding River Adige. There are plains to the south, hills around the city and mountains to the north. The Italian Lakes are a short drive to the west.
Verona is a major tourist attraction thanks to its culture and history. Three of Shakespeare's plays are set in the city and there are popular operas held in the Roman amphitheatre. If you rent a car in Verona you will find there is more to the city than drama and music though. You will be able to tour around attractions like the beautiful old piazzas lined by historic buildings and the 14th-century Ponte Scaligero Bridge. There are Roman and Renaissance monuments throughout the city. Further afield some of Europe's most acclaimed landscapes are just a short drive away. The shore of Lake Garda, for example, is just 25 miles west.
