Hertz in Breda
You'll find the city of Breda in the south west of the Netherlands, just a couple of miles north of the Belgian border. It's also 20 miles west of Tilburg and 65 miles south of Amsterdam. The headquarters of the Royal Netherlands Airforce is based in Breda. If you pick up a rental car in Breda you'll find yourself exploring a modern city but with old quarters and waterways, and a large green, flower-filled public space: the Park Valkenberg. The complex Dutch road network means that Breda sits within a wide square of motorways, providing good driving links in all directions.
The focus of the city of Breda is the Grote Markt, a popular main square with pavement cafes and bars. There are open markets here three times a week. You'll find are ranks of impressive old buildings here and dotted around the centre of the city. Look out for the grand gothic Grote Kerk church and Breda Castle, a waterside palace dating from 17th century. If you have a rental car in Breda it's easy to tour these sights and attractions further afield. Other highlights include the pretty little Begijnhof nunnery built around an herb garden, the Roman Catholic Cathedral and the city's Victorian gothic museum.
