Hertz in Eindhoven
The city of Eindhoven stands in the centre of the southern part of the Netherlands, just six miles north of the Belgian border. Despite its large industrial sector, Eindhoven is surrounded by rural land. The city is the fifth largest in the Netherlands, and was built on the undulating land around rivers that have been since diverted or dammed. Fortunately, if you rent a car in Eindhoven you'll find the roads are excellent. There's a proper inner ring road to help you escape the worst of the jams, and motorways and trunk roads radiate out in all directions. Amsterdam is 77 miles to the north.
Eindhoven is renowned as a modern industrial city but there are historic sights too. It's the proud home of the Philips electrical company. You'll find that one of the visitor highlights is a museum dedicated to light bulbs. The theme continues throughout the city: drive around after dark and you'll notice an unusual enthusiasm for floodlighting Eindhoven's landmark buildings. If you have a hire car in the city you'll be able to visit other sights too, like the city's open air history museum, DAF car museum, an acclaimed modern art gallery and smart stadium of the PSV Eindhoven football team, which is called, of course, the Philips Stadion.
